A few changes have been made to today's stage due to the torrential rain falling on the area: the first part of the special has been cancelled, including the entire Truck stage, which was supposed to take place on this part of the course. On the other hand, the second part of the special for cars, motorcycles and quads will go on as planned. The motorcycles and quads will set off at 12:00 pm local time, followed by the cars at 2:05 pm (14:05 Moscow time).

Alexey Kuzmich (co-driver #348) told campionat.com about the 7 day of Dakar-2013: We had no aim of catching up the time lost because this was obviously unreal for this relatively short special. We overgot a little. There were only 5 or 10 kilometers without dust, then we caught up with three cars, saw them from time to time at the horizon. But of course none of them reacted to our signals, they went very close to each other. We may plan to win some time during Saturday but in general we are not charged with such a stunning task. Simply we keep our pace, that's it.

Since the start of the rally it was the longest stage with 438 kilometers of special and 291 kilometers of liaison. It was expected to bring the brightest moments due to the variety of sceneries. It was like a in a movie: the competitors drove through mountains, sand, rocks and fesh-fesh. Though some scenes would have better not to happen.

When darkness fell down the Arica bivouac, some men in red with sacks in their hands arrived at G-Force team site. Do you think they were Santas? Not at all! They appeared to be scrutineering officers. And the reason for this visit was the only fact that crew #348 Gadasin/Kuzmich firmly occupied their place in first ten in Dakar 2013 overall. The story from Mikhail Lastochkin.

The Dakar crossed the Chile border and came closer by two hours. Also the scenery changed. From now on the competitors will meet less dunes but more dust and more… complicated navigation.

Carlos Sainz gets his 20 minutes back and gets… stopped by some technical issues. Gerard De Roy’s fear was not in vain. Ales Loprais appeals to his truck to reach the finish line. Robby Gordon turns upside down. G-Force Motorsport chases pelicans along the beach and finishes as planned. KAMAZ is on top.

Yesterday morning Carlos Sainz managed to persuade the race officials that his loss of 20 minutes was the official GPS device fault so they restored the time for him. Yesterday afternoon he lost the 20 minutes again, this time due to the electrical issues eith his buggy engine. But this was not the end of the story: now Sainz gets 20 minutes back from officials…

Stage 3 at Dakar 2013 beyond expectation was not a revelation. Though the track navigation was more complicated than before, the surface type changed frequently, the sand became softer and slopes more scarp, most of racers were quite satisfied with the special and readily shared there experiences.
